Telehealth

At CCRH, our Telehealth services expand access to care for patients whose needs do not require urgent or emergency treatment. We offer video visits for routine follow-ups, behavioral health therapy, remote monitoring, and pharmacy consultations. We also offer audio only visits over the telephone for patients who meet certain criteria. Telehealth also enables us to provide off-site care management, share public health updates, and reach individuals who may face barriers to in-person care.

Telehealth Policy Updates After the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services introduced several policy changes during the COVID-19 pandemic to expand access to telehealth. Some of these changes are now permanent, while others remain in place temporarily through the end of 2024.

Permanent Medicare Telehealth Changes
CCRH, as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), can now serve as a distant site provider for behavioral and mental health services via telehealth.

Medicare patients can receive behavioral and mental health services from home.

Geographic restrictions for these services have been permanently removed.

Temporary Changes (Through December 31, 2024)
Geographic restrictions are also lifted for non-behavioral telehealth services during this period.

Some services may be provided via audio-only platforms (no video required).

The requirement for an in-person visit within six months of the first behavioral telehealth session — and annually thereafter — is temporarily waived.
